INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS EXCHANGE PROJECT
THE TANZANIA COMPUTER PROJECT
The Lansing Regional Sister Cities Commission has established a Friendship City Agreement and an International Partnership agreement with the city of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, in East Africa.
Currently, we have established an International Schools Exchange project, which creates partnerships between schools in Lansing, Detroit and Washington D.C., with counterpart schools in Dar es Salaam. (Partnership Update attached.)
It is our goal to make this project self-sustainable in terms of supporting the continued operation and expansion of the center.
THE TANZANIA COMPUTER PROJECT
To start the project, we are going to raise approximately $10,000 to set up a lab using laptop computers at Tusiime Elementary and Secondary School in Dar Es Salaam. One of Its partner schools will be El Hajj Malik El Shabazz Academy in Lansing, Michigan.
Our plan is to buy approximately 40 laptops and support their connection to the Internet for classroom support at Tusiime school and communicating with their counterparts at El Hajj Malik El Shabazz Academy and other ISEP participants..
We are always looking for additional partners to become a part of this project. If you are interested in doing so please contact:
