Text Box: The rates of breastfeeding among African American women continue to be drastically lower than the rates for any other race.
Some researchers believe this is the reason the infant mortality rate for African American babies is higher than for other race babies especially Whites and Hispanics.
According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, only 45% of African American women try to breastfeed immediately after delivery as opposed to 64% of White women. Six months after delivery only 19% of African American women continue to breastfeed, Text Box: where 31% of White women are continuing. 

The truth of the matter is at birth breastfed babies receive antibodies they will never get a chance to get again. 
Breastfed babies don't get as sick or get sick as often as bottle fed babies. 
Breastfed babies are less likely to die of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Breastfed babies are less likely to be obese later in life
Breastfed babies tend to be smarter
The female body makes the milk especially for that (those) baby(ies).

Breastfeeding provides nourishment and comfort to the baby. Breastfed babies tend to be independent and social.
Breastfeeding is cleaner than boiling bottles and mixing formula and it is made especially for baby.
Breast size does not matter all breasts sizes can breastfeed.

You can pump and store your breastmilk in a cooler or refrigerator for your baby.
